Rhonda Spellman is an author, teacher, and speaker dedicated to promoting positive Autism awareness. Her books, teaching programs for children and educational programs for adults were first inspired by helping her son. A game she created taught him to verbalize what he could visualize and was the first real ‘breakthrough’ after he had been virtually non-verbal from nearly two until he was four and one-half.

She then helped him to develop his imagination when he created a fictional story at five. “Tanner’s Camel” is a real story with a real message. Rhonda began sharing this story along with her stories with groups of children. Her hidden motive: to help his classmates to “see” beyond his Autistic behaviors that they didn’t understand.

Bonus: they ALL wanted to write their very own book, too! Since 2003, Rhonda has taught groups of 30 – 300 to write and illustrate a 16 page book that she created just for them! This series is now being looked at by several production companies who see the value in teaching children to successfully work and learn together by embracing diversity!

Tanner will be ten in August and should have his 5th book completed by then! We plan to share these stories along the series he began (staring an animal that he created) soon!

We welcome YOUR input and we hope to see YOU soon!
